About SLIP

SLIP Surplus Lines Information Portal

On December 1, 2010, the Nevada Surplus Lines Association (NSLA) released a website called the Surplus Lines Information Portal (SLIP) that allows surplus lines brokerages to electronically submit their policy information to NSLA. This new tool is an exciting step forward for our state and will replace our existing online filing system as your new surplus lines e-filing solution.

SLIP is a nationally recognized surplus lines solution — we’re confident you will find it an easy-to-use and powerful improvement over our current e-filing process. Our adoption of SLIP is based upon its sound design, clear user interface, and its proven track record of success. What’s more, those states in which SLIP is currently in operation report overwhelming evidence of user satisfaction. In addition to electronic filing, SLIP provides a variety of other useful tools that allow brokerages to manage their policy submissions.

SLIP'S FEATURES INCLUDE:

  • A user-friendly web interface for brokerages to quickly and correctly submit their policies without the need to download any software.
  • A streamlined process for brokerages and NSLA examiners to identify and resolve policy filing issues.
  • The ability to receive email alerts when your policy submissions have been registered and/or questioned.
  • The ability to view all previously submitted (historical) data.
  • Access to detailed reports for brokerages to review, analyze, and verify their submitted data, minimizing the required involvement of NSLA staff.
  • Access to monthly invoice and tax statement information including up-to-date payment and account balance information.
  • A system inbox to receive documents, newsletters, and announcements from NSLA.
  • The ability for brokerages to manage their own users and distribute their workload.

SLIP provides the ability for NSLA member brokerages and their representatives to electronically submit and review surplus lines policy data as required by Nevada state law. Unauthorized access to or use of the SLIP Web site or any NSLA Web site or service is strictly prohibited.
